New Year's Eve!!!
New Year’s Eve features Key West’s Red High Heel Shoe Drop which attracted the attention of CNN and has made Key West one of the top places in the world to ring in the New Year. As an alternative to shivering in Times Square, join the jubilant crowd around the 700 block of Duval Street gathered in shorts - or even less!
Watch Key West's famous drag queen Sushi descend in the giant high heel shoe from the top of Bourbon Street Pub to the street below during the countdown to 2009.
When the shoe touches down at midnight champagne corks will pop and the confetti will fly to officially welcome 2009. Produced by Bourbon Street Pub with Sponsors including the Key West Business Guild.
In addition to this annual party, enjoy time on the water, fine dining packages, theater, other street parties lowering a host of Key West themed objects and characters, fireworks, dancing and much more.
Please start planning your trips to Key West for 2009. Happy New Year! http://www.gaykeywestfl.com
What's New in Key West
What's New in...
KEY WEST
by Tim Pinckney
Every night in Key West you’ll find the main promenade, Duval Street, packed with locals and vacationers doing the “Duval Crawl.” Here you’ll discover people from all walks of life strolling after a night of good food and music, gaggles of tan young women laughing and window-shopping, and gay men, jammed into flip-flops, jumping from club to club.
